Today I’d like to talk about the impact of technology and what your recruiter is able to do for you. And in assessing recruiting services, finding out if these tools are part of that recruiter’s process, first does your recruiter offer video interviewing? Looking at a resume or a summary of the candidate gives you good information, right? How about if you can watch a candidate explain to you how he or she has achieved what you need accomplished in your business. Video interviewing can be a taped event and sent to you for review or it can be a live event before you pay for a flight in a hotel.
Secondly is the use of SMS, the short message service of texting, to access candidates. Sure, email and voicemail still function at a reasonable level of response, but demographically Millennials and Generation Z candidates they’ve grown up accustomed to Twitter and Facebook’s Messenger and Google Chat, all text oriented tools. Ask your recruiter, “Is texting part of your access strategy to candidates?”
Third area, auto-dial systems, the best recruiters are talking with candidates you want every day.
