Hello. This is Dan Toussant, and we do public accounting search. Search work for managers and seniors and partners. This brief video will outline how our process works, why it works, why if you need to hire an experienced auditor or tax professional that you will call us.

First of all, building relationships is what we do. We spent a lot of time in human resources as an executive, always the organization’s chief recruiter, and now similarly build relationships with hiring managers. We look initially for key qualifications, usually six in most experienced CPA firm roles.

We get a sense of the firm’s culture, what makes the culture work in this particular situation and the attractive parts to the culture, as we experience it, always looking for what the managing partner or hiring partner expects, and make sure that’s clear to both of us before we start the search.

Secondly, we build relationships with candidates. We learn about why they’re talking with us, what are the angst points that they’re experiencing in their current role, and ideally what they would want in a new opportunity. When you start talking about an ideal position, we look for candidates that we offer resembles what they want; that’s when we enter them into our process.

Thirdly, as we go through that process, we talk with candidates several times, talk with references, and vet them thoroughly. We understand their compensation goals, and what they would consider ‘necessary’ to make a positive decision about an offer. We make sure they can explain the special qualities of the role and the firm, and continually build their confidence in the strength of the new opportunity.

Our process ensures acceptance of the position, that they’ll start as we agreed, and that they will work well for you in the future.
