Are you getting the value from your recruiter that you deserve? Are you expecting the recruiter to take it upon themselves to really do the search?

I want to spend a little time telling you what a good recruiter provides in this next segment.

When you receive a resume from a recruiter, is there something else attached? I want to go through with you a submittal that recruiters who know what they’re doing and are providing value do every day.

A candidate submittal starts with a qualifications grid that the hiring manager needs that are the critical five or six qualifiers in that role, and how that individual matches each, followed by their motivation for leaving and availability to take some kind of interview with you the hiring manager.

Documenting three or four responses that are keys for success in this role and the results of the recruiter’s interview with that candidate and how they’ve responded to each one of those key result indicators.

The third piece is the resume of the candidate, but it’s marked in yellow as to where the key parts of that person’s background fit in terms of compliments and what their responsibilities have been and what you’re looking for. including the current compensation and current benefits that that person has, then there’s

The last piece, two references from the highest-level individuals who know what they can do. These documented references, including the name and phone number, title and company and provide the hiring manager context to the candidate’s qualifications.

That’s a submittal that gets you a lot of information about that candidate and shows you what that individual will bring to the table in an interview. Are you getting that kind of value from your recruiter? You should be. Give us a call if you’d like to talk more.
